Austin 1800 Mk2 Ute automatic, very rare Mk2 automatic from 1970 and is one of only two in the UK as far as we are aware. It has done 5600 miles since the engine was fully reconditioned and the automatic gearbox has now covered 350 miles only since being reconditioned (at a cost of £1800). The car was my Covid project, 18 months work with engine reconditioned, new wiring harness, new carpet and interior roof lining, seat professionally retrimed, modern stereo installed to allow for iPhone used and hands free calls. All new rubbers, bushes, bearings and brakes throughout. A reconditioned steering rack (Australian version with easier ratio) as well as brand new indicator mechanism and reconditioned heater box were also installed. The speedometer was reconditioned and calibrated to suit the correct gearing and 14’ tyre sizes. The rims were also painted for protection. Since being transported over from Australia the car has traveled from London all the way up past Stirling and back, the gearbox did have an issue with a band failing but it had all been reconditioned by a professional firm (I’m happy to show the invoice for the work).

The car was a workshop runabout in the ‘80s and retains original signage from that time. I have had a lot of work done to remove rust which includes new floorboards and passenger side pillar. The car is extremely solid as even a cursory look underneath will show. The car also retains its original, from factory, tonneau cover (you have a better chance of finding a Dodo in your backyard). The Ute also comes with a complete (second hand) rear guard to hang on the garage wall. This is a very reluctant sale but it has to go, being a mechanically fully reconditioned car with a fantastic patinated ‘80s look that would be impossible to replicate, coupled with its extreme rarity (only 11 automatic Utes of the 500 made are currently known to be registered and on the road in the world). I am open to genuine offers from serious buyers. As an example, a very nice manual Ute sold at auction last October for £19500 (including fees). I am looking at offers greater that this due to how rare genuine automatic Utes have become and the unique look that this Ute has.

Austin 1800 Mk1, owned for 15 years by my daughter during which time it has been completely re-trimmed inside, re-sprayed (both shortly after she obtained the car) and mechanically looked after. I am handling the sale on her behalf as she does not have internet facilities. MOT status has been maintained, despite the 1800 not needing one, expiring 4/6/2025. Whilst not in perfect condition it is an honest example of this model. Small amount of bodywork required (see picture). The mechanics, since she bought it, have not been altered and has not been upgraded to an alternator, still running on original equipment. It still runs well but she feels it is not being used enough so it's now time for someone else to enjoy ownership.

Austin 1800, fully restored shell, fitted with a VW 2.8 24-valve VR6 engine and 5-speed gearbox producing 200bhp, uprated suspension and brakes, very fast, totally unique. Took over 1,000 hours to build. Car was featured in the January 2024 edition of Practical Classics magazine. Price is £14,995 but any serious offers considered.

Austin 1800 Mk3 automatic, green with green interior. 41,000 miles, power steering. Currently housed at the transport museum in Jurby on the Isle of Man. The car is a runner, I have a video taken recently of it running and as its housed in a museum we took it out and drove around the industrial estate. It did have a lot of work done a few years back as the car was bought in from the UK my Dad had all the work done and it went through the Manx Vehicle Test straight away. I have all of those documents and many more too. Happy to assist with shipping off island.

Wolseley 18/85 S Automatic, finished in Blue Royale with unmarked Galleon Blue interior. 72,000 miles from new. New discs and pads fitted. Recent oil and filter change. Automatic gearbox filter cleaned and new fluid. Exhaust system is nearly new. Wooden dashboard & door cappings are unmarked. The car has never been welded and has had full Lanoguard protection in every cavity and underneath. 18/85 S models are now getting rare and highly sought after. Car is located in South Yorkshire Transport Museum in Rotherham. The car can be lifted up onto a 4 poster ramp to allow viewing of the underside.

Wolseley Six, owned by me for 8+ years. V5C in my name. Drives very well but possibly could do with a tune up and brake servo/brake cylinder may need looking at because sometimes the brakes stick after a while but then free themselves to allow you to carry on, but still stop and work fine. Bodywork is not concours but still presentable, has a few paint blisters/surface rust blisters coming through. Interior still original including carpets but again presentable. Front seats re-covered in a corduroy fabric and re-foamed giving a comfortable seat. Test drive and inspection welcome from Kirkbymoorside, North Yorkshire.

WOLSELEY 18/85 OR SIX FRONT BUMPER

My father was a panel beater and body sprayer back in the day, when that was a thing. He scrapped various vehicles over the years and stored the good bits. In a recent turn out of the final space in his old workshops we found a bumper with “Landcrab” written on it. Collection only from Taunton, Somerset.
