These nifty little devices can maintain your battery in good healthy
order a extended lay-up or simply over winter ensuring that your car
will start first time every time. They work like a trickle charger,
but sense when the battery is full and also send pulses of power to
maintain the battery in top condition. These are available from Regalia
Secretary Claire Serrell
at
the giveaway price of £26 inc VAT. These can be seen in shops
and in the press for anything up to £42.
Laminated
and Heated Laminated Windscreen offer…again!!
Back at the beginning of last year we organised a members' offer for
new Laminated Windscreens. We had a great response and many are asking
what's happening? We hit a problem, in as much as we needed a minimum
order of each type of screen and our order had too many different
models. Having been unable to get the exact order manufactured we
decided we need to come back to the members and start again.
To make the order workable we need a minimum of 10 of each type so we are offering 3 types
(1) Standard laminated @ £72
(2) Heated front @ £135
(3) Tinted @ £90 (The colour will be a top tint of either green or blue, which ever gets more votes!)
Sorry we can’t offer more combinations but that is where we fell down last time.
Your
chance to order
We are hoping to keep the prices down to the prices quoted above costs,
which were quoted last year. Everyone who wants to one or more will
need to send us a deposit of 75% of the value so we can place the
order with confidence. These prices do not include VAT nor do they
include postage and packing…but they could be collected from
one of the LOCI events by agreement.
This is not a money making venture we are simply looking to bring
our cars up-to-date. Send your order for your screens with the
cheque for 75% deposit payable to LOCI to Magazine Editor Michael
Sanchez (address below). For standard laminate the deposit is
£63.50, Heated is £119 and the tinted unit is £79.
Your cheque will not be banked until the screens are ordered from
the factory and we have to pay the deposit. When we place the order,
hopefully in May, we will get the definitive price. If it is within
10% of these prices quoted we will go ahead and place the order. However,
if it is more we will get in touch with everyone to make sure you
are still happy to proceed. We need this latitude as the final prices
will be volume-related.
Batteries
– original size and heavy duty units
We have a very limited number of proper sized batteries 13.1 inch
long x 5.2 inch wide x 8 inch high that are hand made by Lincon Batteries
Rated at 65 amp/20 hour. The positive terminal is on the left hand
side in the photo. Personally I got fed up buying cheap batteries
designed for the Mini and can report having had two of these for over
two years now that even in the winter these batteries have kept Wolseley
Six going even when living outside and using the Rear Screen Heater,
full beam on headlight and blower on full and have seen my 12 mile
commute without a hitch. Their standard battery is similar to the
one in the left hand photo, but we were able to secure a few batteries
by ordering a pallet load. These have the enclosed plastic lids, and
to complete the 'look' we've bought some nice gold coloured Lucas
stickers, which we'll send you for free. The units come dry charged
complete with acid pack.

Calling
all 2200 engine Crabbers
Did you know that the font of all good Landcrab parts viz "The
Emporium" can no longer supply us with new engine mountings?
On finding this out recently I was determined to do something about
it, and after much searching and contacting over 15 companies have
found what I think is an excellent deal as long as we can find upwards
of around twenty 2200 & Wolseley Six owners who will order a set!
They are remarkably good value – £25 per mounting. All
the mounts are unique to the Six pot Landcrabs, and the two rear ones
are a complicated design! Let’s face it, where are we without
engine mountings? Juddering to make a start. So even if you don’t
need them yet...buy a set now and keep them for when you do. After
the initial order where we are keeping costs down, future sets can
