Austin
1800 Mk2 S The car is in excellent condition and has been built as a Historic Rally car. It is in the fetching period original colour of Antelope Brown with red interior. The performance modifications make the car very drivable with surprising performance. The exterior and interior of the car are largely untouched by the rally modifications which improve the performance and handling. This car has been totally reliable and only used on relatively gentle one-day road rallies in the last 3 years. It is MOTed until November 2012 and taxed (free) until July 2012. Rebuilt
engine (in 2002): Other
improvements: The bodywork is excellent with no rust. It had new genuine BMC sills in 2002 (cost £1,000). It has had a new genuine BMC front offside wing, a new genuine BMC front valance and the wings, valance and bonnet were repainted (in 2002). The brake servo was fully reconditioned in 2009. It comes with handbook, workshop manual and a host of old MOTs and bills. It also has a number of spares including the original steering wheel, driveshafts, rear suspension arms, etc etc. The
car is ready to compete in Historic Road Rallies (e.g. HRCR) or as
a reliable and quick hobby car. Viewing strongly recommended.

Morris 1800S Durham Constabulary replica Traffic Car, This 1970 Morris 1800s was replicated by Durham Constabulary some years ago to the exact specification of their Traffic cars deployed in the early 1970s. I purchased the Morris in 2009. The following work has been undertaken since that time: A new Full Stainless Steel Exhaust system manufactured and fitted by Longlife Exhausts cost £400 (includes receipt and guarantee). Fully refurbished petrol tank. New Dynamo, control box (Voltage Regulator), water pump, brake pads/shoes. The Morris has a full complement of Police equipment including two tone horns, blue beacon, telephone handset, Pye Transistor Radiotelephone. The car is finished in striking Black and White livery (part of a Home Office experiment ) with Police decals on all 4 doors. New parts are available at an additional cost which may be used to enhance the car's appearance. These include front and rear valence, bumpers and overriders. The car is currently on SORN status and previously passed its M.O.T. two years ago. A British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate accompanies the car. Please
note that strict rules govern the use of Ex/Replica Police vehicles
on the Public Highway and the purchaser is advised to register with
the Police Car UK club in order to gain the full benefits
of ownership. |
